I have been supervising psychotherapists and counsellors since 1995. I offer supervision to individuals and groups, working in a range of settings including schools, GP practices, NHS units, and private practices.

As a practitioner, you will have the opportunity to: speak confidentially about your practice; discuss your therapeutic setting, contract and fee; look at client process and its impact on you; explore theoretical aspects of your work; and ensure your practice is ethical.

Each supervision is 50 minutes long and my fee is £60 per consultation. Concessions may be available. Supervision is structured by agreement to best support your work.

I do not require a prepared presentation – open-ended reflection yields useful insight. But if I think it may be beneficial, I may ask you to prepare a process report or do some reading outside our consultation.

Style of supervisionTop

My integrative approach to supervision is the result of my personal integration of different psychotherapeutic models. For me, supervision is a specific modality or frame of mind which facilitates the exploration of client work in a wide range of styles and settings.

To facilitate your practice, I would like to become familiar with your therapeutic style, its theoretical roots, and specific areas of knowledge you would like to explore. Your input forms an essential part of our dialogue.

Beginning supervisionTop

The process begins with an initial consultation in which we will discuss the setting of your work, and the approach you adopt with your clients. You will have an opportunity to hear about my approach to supervision and ask me about my professional background.

We will formulate a contract specifying the work and how we will assess our progress, and you decide if you wish to proceed.

Duration of supervisionTop

Although single consultations can be effective, supervision works best over time. This allows for more detailed work and the development of deeper understanding.

Practitioners of all theoretical orientations are welcome. The integration of meaning across the boundary between us is a major reward of the supervision process.
